Hipsco hits out at Home Inspector Franchices
Hipsco has hit out against franchises for Home Inspectors and Domestic Energy Assessors calling them expensive and unnecessary.
Richard Richmond, Managing Director of Hipsco says, “franchises are normally sold on the basis of there being a replicatable existing business model, this simply isn’t the case with Home Inspectors or Energy Assessors indeed there is no guarantee that the companies offering this type of franchise will have a successful Hips proposition in the market and therefore no guarantees as to the amount of work available.
These franchises appear to offer very poor value for money at best and a complete waste of money at worst and with the cost of some franchises at nearly £20,000 over 3 years it’s a lot of money to waste. Hipsco have a free to join panel for Home Inspectors and Domestic Energy Assessors which we feel is a more realistic and fairer approach for the new industry” he comments further “there is a lot of industry speculation about the possible shortage of Domestic Energy Assessors so paying for a franchise at this stage, to maybe, or maybe not, guarantee work when there will almost certainly be a lot of work available seem ludicrous. |
