MPs vote for Hips
MPs have voted against annulling Home Information Packs – Hips regulations following a debate in the House of Commons.
The debate was brought to the House by a Conservative Party motion calling for HIP regulations to be annulled.
Out of the 540 MPs that voted, 234 voted for the motion to annul Hips, whilst the majority of 306 voted against it - a win for the government by 72 votes.
This means that the government's proposal to bring Hips into force on June 1 will go ahead and plans to overturn it at the 11th hour have been thwarted. |
