Ahipp rejects call to abandon home information packs
The Association of HIP Providers (Ahipp) has rejected calls for the postponement of Home Information Packs (Hips) made by the Council of Mortgage Lenders' (CML)
The CML has taken a month to respond to Ahipp's consultation document, a move the group has claimed will create uncertainty among the public.
However, the Housing Minister has made assurances that Hips will come into effect on June 1st, despite the CML's attempts to scupper the move.
And Mike Ockendon, director general of Ahipp, commented that there is enough evidence to suggest that the mortgage providers' claims that the scheme is flawed are unfounded.
"Both the public and industry have embraced Hips during our initial dry run and we would happily share this information with them," |
